Cam-Tek has a wireless solution for every situation you may encounter. Analog and IP
cameras can be transmitted in three frequency ranges. The 900MHz range is referred to as
the "tree burning" frequency and is capable of passing through light tree cover. The 2.4GHz
range is reasonably priced, but is the most commonly used, lending to interference due to
interference due to frequency saturation. Lastly, the 5.8GHz range gives good transmission
with little problems in frequency saturation. Avoid expensive trenching costs by transmitting
your video wirelessly. Solar kits are available so that power is not even needed at you remote
camera locations. IP systems can be configured to transmit multiple cameras to a single
receiver (point to multi-point). This can be a tremendous savings on hardware.
Mesh
networks can also be constructed allowing transmitters to send video back via
other transmitters, even re-routing around those that could potentially fail. The bandwidth is
also automatically balanced for the most efficient throughput. Up to 15 mile transmission
distances can be expected "line-of-sight", with the right antennas. Don't give up on that
remote camera project.
